Latvia Opens Borders For International Students.
Govt Instructs Universities To Communicate With Pupils.
Latvia is one of
the captivating countries of Europe, known well for their beautiful beaches and
sprawling greenery, that's why the tourists all over visit the country and
enjoy the charming nature.
Besides being
filled with science beauty, Latvia is one of the noted ideal study destinations
of Europe attracting abroad students including Indians. More than one-third of
the foreign students studying in this Baltic region are Indians.
With the outbreak
of pandemics and the rise of infections, Latvia placed travel restrictions for
incoming people as a part of the safety measures, which have restricted
international students as well.
Anyway, Latvia
has been opening borders for international students allowing them to continue
their studies in their designated institutions. However, the covid19
restrictions are still in place, a category of International students are
exempted, they are able to travel to Latvia for their study career.
It is to be noted
that to enter Latvia, a student has to produce a letter from the institute that
depicts the need of the student to continue/begin studies in the country.
And also, the
eligible Students must provide a Covid-19 negative report to the airline before
boarding the plane and it is required to undergo self-isolation upon reaching
the country.
The report (even
Negative) is not valid if the covid test performed before 3 days (72 hours)
from the time of
departure.
Latvia
government has instructed the universities to oversee the self-quarantine
facilities for their students coming from abroad and also asked to be in touch
with the pupils and extend support if needed.
