 The USA kick-started a new history by sending Donald Trump, who is controversial in many aspects to the recent Capitol Building violence, out of the white house, and paved the red carpet for the new president Joe Biden.

 

US President Inauguration- Vice President Is Indian Origin 

The 78year old Joe Biden won against the previous President Donald Trump in the November 2020 elections to become the 46th president of the United States. However, The inauguration of Joe Biden happened on January 20, 2021, making him officially the president of the United States for a 4-years term. The Indian origin Kamala Harris stepped in as the vice president.

 

Joe Biden IN to Whitehouse-Trump OUT to Mar-a-Lago

The official residence and workplace of the president of the USA, the Whitehouse has witnessed the incoming of the new president and outgoing of the ex-president Donald Trump who exited from the Whitehouse on Wednesday. Trump along with his wife Melania Trump bid farewell to his supporters and staff and boarded the prestigious aircraft of US “Air Force One” to head to the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

 

What Factors Favoured Biden’s Win on Trump? 

There is more positivity towards Joe Biden among the citizens of the USA and declared him as their president with a massive vote share. His speeches and assurances for a better USA and his stand on pandemic control in election campaigns gained him popularity. Not only among US citizens, there was extremely positive opinion in immigrants and also out of the USA including India.

 

Besides his seniority and vast experience in the US political system, his association with ex-president Barack Obama, the first African American president of the United States (2009–17), also played a key role in his victory. Joe Bide served as the vice president of Obama’s administration.

 

The controversies around Donald Trump including his decisions on immigration policies, his view and actions on covid19, and hate speeches on various incidents are also key in Biden’s win as president of superpower United States

 

Joe Biden First Signatures as President-Reversal of Trump’s Policies

 

After stepping into the shoes of the US president, Joe Biden signed few main policies such as immigration, pandemic control, and climate/environmental protection.

 

On his first day, the new president reversed the few policy decisions created by the Trump administration.

 

Biden signed an executive order to make masks and social distancing compulsory, he even launched the “100 Days Masking Challenge” to prepare Americans to wear masks. Trump's opinion on masks, sanitizers and other covid control measures is well known to us. However, the new president is more focused on pandemic control and health and safety measures.

 

Joe Biden has revered Trump's decision of stepping out of the World Health Organization. And appointed Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, to lead the US delegation in WHO.

 

During the Trump administration, the US opted out from the Paris agreement that is an international treaty on climate change. However, the latest president resigned the Paris Agreement

 

Biden revered trump’s anti-immigration policy that stops the immigrants from majority-Muslim nations to step into USA.

Revival of International Education, International Engagement and Immigration

 

The international education sector comprising the US’s colleges and universities and educational associations welcomed the arrival of the new president and have pinned big hopes on him and are expecting a firm change in the policies made by the previous government that is tearing the United States  reputation of Ideal Study Destination among international students.

Biden’s earlier speeches in various events depict his view about international education, immigration and international engagement.

 

The senior politician seems to be open-minded and favourable to international engagement rather than Trump's nature of “America Great”. The USA is expected to extend friendly and supportive alliances to foreign nations under the new government.

 

The actions and directions of Biden in a few days are promising the revival of International Education, International Engagement and Immigration. Let's hope for the best.
