Visa: USA Launches New Rule Terminating the Longstanding One-Benefits Highly
Talented Foreign Workers
It is a known fact that the United States
of America is very much popular among foreign skilled people who want to earn
in dollars and get well settled in their careers. Indians are top in the list
eager to move to this highly-developed nation for work. More than 2.5 million
Indian immigrants are in the United States and the majority of the volume
stepped into the nation through the H1B visa.
A large number of Indians apply for the
H1B visa, the popular temporary work visa that allows skilled personnel from abroad countries to work in the USA. The majority of H1B holders among the
Indian community in the USA are IT workers.
The Trump administration has chopped the
old rule from the H1B visa and has introduced a new one that gives priority to
the salary and skills of abroad workers.
The US Citizenship and Immigration
Services have introduced the latest rule that says H1B visas will be granted
for highly-skilled/highly-waged foreign employees. The new rule will replace
the longstanding, lottery system.
The latest rule will be made effective
from 9th March 2021.
The new rule will affect the majority of
Indian techies who are willing to work in USA companies and the count of
Indians travelling to the US on H1B will be reduced drastically. Not only techies
but also it impacts Indian pupils who are studying in the USA. As the most
highly skilled/experienced workers are given priority, the doors will be closed
for Indian students who want to work in the USA through an H1b work permit
after graduation.
As per the latest reports, the Indian
government is planning to hold talks with the upcoming government of Joe Biden
about the new change in the H1B visa.
