Audio 3 – a conversation between multiple people up to 4 (topic belongs to educational or training)

Audio 4 - a monologue (topic set on any academic subject or university lecture)

Tips n Hints-IELTS-Listening

The first main tip is Be Attentive yet Relax

Focus on grammar like plural-singular nouns, tenses,  verbs, and subject/verb agreement.

Write the correct noun form or verb tense, otherwise, your answer is considered wrong (even if your answer is right)

An indefinite article in front of the blank space for the answer indicates the answer is a singular noun.

If the answer is Second Person singular, add ‘s’ at the end.

Don't forget to start the answer with a capital letter ( regarding proper nouns like countries, cities or geographical locations etc) i.e capitalization of the first alphabet for proper nouns. For example, 'America' is treated as the right answer, while 'America' is wrong.

Sometimes you might forget about the above rule. So, Capitalise all the answers i.e write your answers in the booklet in all capitals. For example, America and AMERICA-both are treated as correct.

Good handwriting is important-make your answer more visible and clarity to the examiner. Follow the above trick, capitalization

If you have bad handwriting, write your full answers in capital letters. It looks neat, and also easy to read.

Focus more on spellings though you pick the right answer, incorrect spelling is considered as the wrong one (though the answer is right). For example, 'Suspicious' is right, 'Saspicious' is wrong.

Be familiar with the questions, i.e read the questions very carefully, you will be given some time before the start of recording. But, read thoroughly as the recording will be played only once.

Write your answers in your test booklet as per your convenience.

You will be given 10 minutes at the end to transfer these answers to the question booklet.

Check spelling, grammar, and handwriting.

Try to find the keywords from the questions in the recording, which will be easy for you to pick the right ones

if you miss one question, move on to another one. Don't think about it and don't waste time, and no need to get tension. Otherwise, it will effect your entire work

There is no negative marking, so don't dwell upon incorrect answers or incomplete questions. Otherwise, it will ruin your overall progress.

Follow the word count instructions. For example, if one instruction is “write no more than one word”, means the answer should be one word. For example, if AMERICA is the answer, don't write THE AMERICA, which will be marked incorrect.
