 IRCC New Announcement: Canada Relaxed PGWP Rules Again To Favour Abroad Students

Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world and it is one of the highly developed countries comprising abundant natural resources, modern architecture, and vast industrialization. Canada is touted to be one of the happiest places to live.

The pandemic Corona has put brakes to the in-person study and teaching allover, Universities are providing online training for the students who are not able to travel amid pandemic and travel restrictions.

The Canada educational institutions are also providing distance learning for international students, since a few months. The Canadian government earlier brought flexibility in post-graduation work permit rules to favour the abroad students who can't travel to the country.

As per the past announcement made by IRCC, the time spent by the student outside Canada for  online study program (after being approved for a study permit) will be counted towards the PGWP scheme.

Here comes another good news for students who are enrolled in online classes in Canadian universities.

In the latest development, the Canadian government extended the flexibility to favor more international students by relaxing the PGWP rules further.

As per the new announcement by IRCC, the length of the duration spent outside Canada for distance learning or online study (starting from when the student applied for a study visa) will be counted towards the length of the post-graduation work permit visa. 

The time spent outside Canada since spring this year 2020 will be counted for PGWP. International students are allowed to pursue their studies online from their home place, the respective time will not be deducted from the length of the post-graduation work permit.
