The Canadian government is taking new measures like amending the Study Visa rules, regulations, and procedures to support the abroad students who are hugely affected by Covid19 outbreak.

The latest update is that Canada's IRCC has released new detailed information and procedures for international students about how to obtain the Visa to study in Universities of Canada in Fall 2020.

The First Step of Study-Permit Process
This is almost a regular Canada study visa process, However, let's see what are the requirements. I.e documents and proofs. Immigration department will assess the applications and issues pre-approval to students to start their education.
Acceptance Letter.
Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (Quebec students only).
Documents Proof of Funds.
Submit Proof that you (Student) will leave Canada unless you have legal temporary or permanent status.
Proof of family members staying in Canada. I.e information about family ties.
To obtain full study permit I.e the applicant is legally alright to travel to Canada in current conditions, must follow the additional process

Requirements for Student Direct Stream
Student Direct Stream was introduced by Canada to accelerate the study visas, I.e allotting study permits in 20 days. Currently, international students belonging to China, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Morocco, Senegal and Vietnam, are only eligible under this SDS category.
International students who submit full applications are only eligible for a fast process under the Student Direct Stream (SDS).
Latest Post-Graduation Work Permit Favours Online Students
Canada's PGWP enables overseas students to work across Canada for a few years legally after their graduation completion. Apart from work experience, they might get eligibility for Canadian permanent residence (PR).
IRCC altered the eligibility work permit requirements in PGWP to support the abroad Students who are pursuing distance education unable to travel Canada.
As per the new Post-Graduation Work Permit policy, International students who are learning half of their course online (50 percent of program) are also eligible for the work permit, they are allowed to stay in Canada for at least three more years.
