Australia Announces New Visa Changes to Support International Students
To provide relief to the international students whose study dreams got disturbed due to covid19 pandemic, Australian government has announced some key changes in study permits.
Visa process will be Kick-started when borders reopens for international travelling. New visas will be issued for abroad students aspiring to enter Australia for education.
Students who got the valid study permit but unable to complete their studies due to pandemic are allowed to lodge fresh visa applications at a free of cost. Means, no visa processing charges will be levied on such category students.
Australian government also made important changes in post-study work policy to support the abroad students who are indulged in distance learning (online classes). The respective study time offshore will be counted for post-study work permit, ensuring job and career security.
Completed their education successfully in Australia and got eligibility to post-study work, but got stuck in their nations and are unable to return to Australia due to COVID-19. These category students are allowed to work outside Australia.
Additional time will be provided to submit English Language test results(IELTS, PTE, TOEFL etc) as these services have been halted due to Corona.
The revised study visa rules will favour international and Indian students big time.
International students are the third largest export for Australia, generates a whopping income of more than 34 billion dollars a year, and also supports 240,000 plus jobs.
