Canada Government Issued Covid-19: Guidelines and Rules For International Students Arriving in Canada
The
Government of Canada revealed the travel and quarantine guidelines and rules
for students who are coming to Canada from foreign nations to pursue their
education. The latest guide is called COVID-19:guide for international students
in Canada arriving from abroad, equipped with guidelines, rules, roles and
responsibilities to be followed by International Students, Designated Learning
Institutions, provinces and territories and the government of Canada for
safeguarding cum supporting international students and controlling the Covid
spread.
The Public Health Agency of Canada played a key role in making this guide, and the government took their advice on health precautions and safety.
This

advised to refer before travelling to Canada. It is very important.

guidelines, rules, permits, quarantine plans directed to International students
in the guide.
Travellers
(International students or their accompanying family members, or both) with
corona symptoms are not allowed to board the flight.
After
reaching the destination, if symptoms of Covid19 are present, a PHAC quarantine
or health officer will do the screening and may not be allowed to enter Canada,
or if necessary, the respective person or persons shifted to a hospital for a
medical examination.
Though an authorised study permit is there, students belonging to the universities and
institutions which do not have approval from the govt. regarding health, safety
are not allowed.
It
is to be noted that the Canadian government ordered the educational
institutions to outline the health safety protocols, quarantine plans and
services etc. provided for students safety and also asked to get proper
approval from the govt. So, students are required to check their designated
learning institute in the authorised list or not, before travelling.
IRCC
will contact the students once the travel authorization has been given.
However, this authorization may be cancelled if situations are not all right at
the institute, or school, or the province or territory, where the student will
study and reside.
Entering
Canada under non-discretionary purposes is not allowed
Only
minors are allowed to include legal parent or guardian to accompany
Spouses
are allowed to travel
Dependent
children are also allowed
Family
members are allowed to enter under non-optional, non-discretionary reasons
Passengers
should wear a mask or face covering, before and after arrival. They should wear
a face-covering throughout the journey, and after arrival as well they should
wear it till they reach the quarantine destination.
International
students including family members must undergo the recommended duration of
quarantine (14 days) after entering Canada.
International
Students must have a perfect quarantine plan. Upon arrival, border officers
will assess your plan. Your plan should satisfy the officers
Provide
the accommodation details to officers and have to ensure about following all
the mandatory quarantine rules and recommendations without fail
Physical
distancing is also a must
Hence
Physical distancing is not possible in public places and groups, not allowed to
travel in public transport and even not allowed to stay in shared
accommodations during isolation
Shared
accommodations, such as hostels, are not acceptable for quarantine
One
has to arrange their daily needs and necessities like groceries, food and
medicine, however not allowed to come out, but can take help of friends,
relatives or neighbours
International
students living with family members’ in house or other accommodation are
required to self-isolate from other members. Follow the following -A separate
bedroom and Washroom (if possible). Physical distancing from other members and
disinfecting surfaces frequently
Avoid
contact with people who are more prone to illness, such as adults, older and
people having underlying medical conditions, or who have less immunity
Minors
also must undergo mandatory quarantine. Parents or guardians must take care of
their Childs; necessary arrangements have been made for their child
A
fine up to $750,000, and six months in jail, if anyone breaks the quarantine
recommendations
As
a result of not following the quarantine rules, If anyone got illness or death,
a big fine up to $1 million and imprisonment for three years will be imposed
If
eligible, students are asked to apply for health-care coverage of Canada, which
benefits them during these uncertain times
